New in the app · Campgrounder+

Campgrounder+ is live. Do the research once, and let us keep watching.

Yosemite Valley in fall. Upper Pines, one of the hardest campsites in America to get, is down there in the trees.

Planning a camping trip usually means six tabs. The reservation site, a weather app, a fire map, a forum thread from 2019, a spreadsheet of dates, and the reservation site again, refreshed at midnight in case someone cancelled.

Campgrounder already puts most of that in one place, for free. Campgrounder+ is the part that keeps working after you close the app. It's live today, and the first 14 days are free!

14days free before anything is charged

Do the research once

Good trips start with a short list, and a short list starts with the right questions. Plus gives you better ones.

Then let it watch

Here's the part nobody tells you: sold out isn't full. Plans change, and sites come back one at a time, at odd hours, and get taken within minutes. The only way to catch one is to be looking when it appears. So we look.

  1. Watch every camp you want. Free watches one. Plus watches all of them, checks each one against Recreation.gov every hour, and emails you the moment a site opens on your dates.
  2. Trip Radar. Pick your dates once and watch your whole saved list at the same time. Whichever camp opens first wins.
  3. Fire and closure alerts. If a wildfire, burn ban or closure order lands near a camp you saved, you hear about it, at most once a day.

What it costs, plainly

Founding members pay $24.99 a year, and that price is theirs for as long as they stay. It's open for a short while; after that it's $34.99. The first 14 days are free, we email you a reminder a week before the trial ends, and you can cancel any time from Profile in the app. If you already have a Cancellation Watch, it stays free. You were here first.

Members also get both letterpress pack lists from the Camp Store, 20% off everything else in it, and a patch on their profile that only the first members will ever earn.

One honest thing. We don't book your campsite, and neither does any other camping app. Federal campgrounds are booked on Recreation.gov and state parks on their own systems. What Plus does is the hard part: find the right camp, watch it, and put you on the booking page, with your dates filled in, the moment something opens.

Notes
Campgrounder+ is a yearly membership that renews until you cancel. Availability is checked against Recreation.gov for the federal campgrounds it lists; state park systems vary. Campgrounder is independently owned and operated.
